How to Own Your Life More in this Season

On Monday, I woke up and reviewed my 12 bullet to-do list, and sighed.
I was immediately overwhelmed and I ended up getting only 3 of the 12 done. We will talk about unrealistic to-do lists another day! 😂
After stomping around my house for a few hours and revenge watching Love is Blind, I realized that I was making myself a victim to my own life.
The life I intentionally created. :::cringe:::
So let's talk about it.
I consider myself a force of a woman. I'm confident, decisive, and intentional. ⚡🌶️
So are all of the women I work with.
However, in the whirlwind of career achievement, motherhood, marriage, and business, we sometimes forget that we CHOSE this life.
Most of the things I have to do this week, I chose.
And, I bet it’s the same for you.
Yes, life throws us some curve balls along the way, unexpected health complications in ourselves or our fams, financial hits, layoffs, depression, etc.
But I'd say about 80% was self-determined.
We, at some point, considered life’s options, and decided YES.
Yes, I want a family.
Yes, I want to excel at work.
Yes, I want to build a business too.
Yes, I want to volunteer here and there.
Yes, I'll host that party, event, fundraiser.
Yes, I'll review that contract for you. (fml, right)
We did a whole lot of YES-ing.
So, whenever I start feeling like my life is out of control, I remind myself of that.
I chose this life.
But that doesn't mean I have to keep it this way.
If it's not working… if I'm now resentful of the YESes, or I bit off more than I could chew, I GET TO CHOOSE AGAIN.
However, if we forget we chose it to begin with, we lose our power.
We end up feeling like a victim in our very own creation.
I hate that ish for you and for me.
If you’re also feeling the overwhelm of it all, I want you to ask yourself the following:
How much of this did I choose?
Do I still want it all?
Do I need a nap or do I need to overhaul my life? (no right answer)
No matter that answer to the previous Q, how can I be the most supportive friend to myself today? What do I need to be able to breathe again?
What must absolutely get done today? (1 or 2 things max)
And, if in answering these Qs, you realize you need to make some changes, book a 1:1 consultation call.
