welcome
Hey! I'm Loraine. My friends call me "Lo." I'm a lawyer and a life and business coach for high-achieving women looking to start a business or otherwise expand beyond their successful careers.
If like me, you enjoy your work, but feel called to something MORE in the world, I’d love to be your guide.
I was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico and raised in Connecticut. I now live in Boston, with my husband and 4-year old son. Life is full, but there is never a dull moment over here!
You'll find my content and coaching useful if you're seeking CLARITY on any of the following (i.e., you're a previous version of me):
Expanding creatively, while succeeding in your 9-5, and being a present parent and partner.
Knowing or feeling there is something bigger out there for you, but not knowing what.
Growing as a leader and advancing in your career without burning out.
The question of "do I even want to be a lawyer (doctor, nurse, accountant, etc.) anymore?!"
Also, if I don’t, then how do I build a business to replace my income? Offer, marketing, sales, etc.
If I do want to keep my job, how can I find a creative outlet to feed my soul, while continuing to practice?
Allowing space for all your feelings without making them mean anything about you as a human.
Here's my story
I was a hustler all through college and law school. Got scholarships for both and worked hard. I also partied hard, but was very much focused on establishing myself professionally and financially.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I went to law school at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, and then moved to DC to work for a few years. Love Bmore and the DMV, always and forever!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Around this time, I started dating my now husband, Chris and decided to move back home to CT where he was. I managed to find an amazing job at a nonprofit. It's dynamic and allows me to do a lot of what I love about the law.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Then I turned 30, and suddenly realized that I’d checked everything off my “adult ideal life” list, I was like “wtf? Is this it? I’m so bored.”😆
I spent the next two years in a fog. I was suddenly unsure of what would actually make me happy.
It wasn’t till 2016, when I lost one of my besties, in a completely unexpected, and frankly, haunting way, that I emerged from the fog.
Life all of a sudden felt so fleeting. There was urgency in my body.
It didn’t help that I’d lost the friend I dreamt with. We were so similar in our longing. We were in our traditional legal careers, but were constantly plotting our exit.
We traveled together, wrote together, shared books, blogs, and podcasts.
When I lost her, I realized I had to follow that longing and urge for creativity that we shared. I had to live fully for both of us.
A year later I started sharing on IG informally. And, six months after I started my life coaching business.
Sometimes we need a life jolt to wake us up. Unfortunately, its almost always a tragedy.
I write, speak, and coach the way that I do because I want to jolt you awake now. I don’t want you to wait until a traumatic event occurs to live fully.
If you’re seeking more fulfillment today, I want you to answer the following Qs:
What’s the idea that keeps coming back to you year after year?
What do people say you’d be amazing at? Do you love it?
What are you curious about today?
Even if you have no idea if you’ll be good at it, follow today’s curiosity like a breadcrumb. Then follow tomorrow’s curiosity.
Here’s the thing, even if it leads you nowhere particularly spectacular or lucrative, you end up living a life of more fulfillment and joy, just by following the breadcrumbs.
You don’t have to quit your day job or free fall into starving artist life. Just make space in your day for the things you love or find interesting.
You never know where they’ll take you.
I love guiding women through his process. So if you want some company, strategy, and support schedule a 1:1 consultation.
Your life is for YOU. Make sure you enjoy it.
I can’t wait to connect with you.
